Worship at the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury
The center of our spiritual focus is Sunday worship. Beginning at 9:30am and 11:00am, each worship service incorporates these important elements:
- Bible readings and Bible-based preaching
- Hymn singing and special music
- Confession of sins and a profession of faith
- Sharing joys and concerns and praying
- Holy Communion celebration, monthly
At the 9:30am service, the liturgy is informal and the music style varies with praise singing, a praise band, and soloists.
At the 11:00am service, the liturgy is more traditional and the music features the Chancel Choir with organ and piano instrumentation.
Children are welcomed and encouraged to be at worship. As they arrive, younger children may pick up a quiet-activity folder for use during worship. The 9:30am service has a Children’s Message, after which the children attending Sunday School are dismissed to their classes. Nursery care for the very youngest is available all morning.
A lay leader always assists the pastors in the worship liturgy.
An American Sign Language interpreter is available upon request. The church is handicapped accessible, with an elevator lift to the worship area upstairs.
During the summer months the Sunday schedule changes to one service at 10:00 am..
Other opportunities for worship during the week are occasionally planned.
